It is very dark but an excellent film nonetheless. The attention to detail is quite amazing as is how eviceral the war scenes are. I don't think I've seen anything that comes close to how tight this film is in terms of editing or artistic design in the characters that Ophelia meets. Be warned it's very sad and id is spoken completely in spanish. This one is a definate must have for the DVD collection.

This was quite well done; too bad that that critics seem to think its a romance movie. How they get romance out of two looks and a kiss I'll never know especially with all the previews clearly showing an action film and about 90% of the film itself devoted to that aspect I'll never know. However, it was quite entertianing. They walked you through enough of what they were doing that it made some sense and the movie never got dull. It's not a must see on the big screen, so if you don't see it now be sure to catch the DVD.

I gotta say, this is the first time I've seen so much original humor from Dreamworks. The imagry was fitting to the story and nicely animated. Let you concentrate on the screeplay instead of cringing at bad art. The ending sequence was pure genius in my book, but I won't ruin it for you if you haven't seen it. Overall I'd say it's an entertaining and enjoyable movie. Do be sure to check out the short on the DVD, quite funny.

The one quirk that got to me was the main menu. The options aren't immediately recognizable and it took a few seconds of wondering where they were before we realized they were buried on the junk food labels.
