We finally made up to that wonderful pit of festering grease known as the Beacon last night for a somewhat late dinner. I ordered a double cheeseburger a-pleanty and I must say that was an entertaining experience. As I'm sure everyone else who went is now saying on their blogs, it's a once a year visit since it probably takes that long to process all the lard. Any more visits than that would probably constitute a major health risk for a heart attack. The ten of us packed into two cars and made the drive up in about twenty minutes thanks to the driving of one Tom Mount. After much debating what to order, we walked up to the front of the line to be greeted with the trademark "CAAALLLL ITTT!" Once we had ordered and picked up our food which amounted to about two pounds of material well over the daily allotment for grease. I did get some lettuce so that means I got some wee amount of reprieve from the grease. After a valient attempt by most of us we conceeded defeat and left the rest of the onion rings and fries on the plates. Dinner was followed by a comedy routine by Jordan and captured by the one camera present. Pictures will follow. someday. Now I must go to attempt to work the lard out of my system.
