I've run into a small roadblock in my Egyptian language studies. It
seems that I have done well at memorizing the hierglyphic and equating
it to both the transliterated Egyptian word and the English definition
but I have failed to do the reverse. I'm finding it hard to remember
the transliteration and hieroglyphic when I translate from English to
Egyptian because I really haven't placed the emphasis on recognizing
the words from the reversed perspective. I guess I'll have to go back
and work on it again. In the mean time my notepad is my guide to
remembering all the stuff I should already know. In other news I have
one leson more until I'm a third of the way through Gardiner. At my
current pace I should be all finished sometime next year. That is
provided I don't get twisted up over stuff like pf, pfy, and pf3. I
should also mention that postes are going to start getting more scarce
as thanksgiving draws near since I'll be out of town for most of the
holiday and I have alot of work to get done in the interim.
