A Digital Equinox
Digital Equinox is a confluence of events in the electronic days and nights of my mind creating a place where my imagination comes to life and basks in the glow of an eternal equinox. Yeah, it's a bit random and might not make much sense, but that's what this blog is.

Ryuken-Roku Victor 9K Painting Tutorial  E-mail

coverimage.jpgIt's be quite some time since I posted anything about painting or other aspects of modeling here, but at some point I got a request to detail how I painted up the other mechs in the lance. For the tutorial I will be using a plastic Victor model from the CityTech boxed set. I did try to convert it to more closely match the metal version available so if you have that model things should still follow pretty closely. Even though this is specifically for painting the Victor, the process should still work for any mech you wish to paint in this color scheme. If all goes well you should end up with something that looks close to the model on the left. In this tutorial I'll be covering the primary blue-gray, metals, and red accents. I'll leave baseing and details like cockpits, decals or freehand markings up to the discretion of the painter. So without further interruption, click the read more link to get started!

It's that time again... presenting Two Lands Creative  E-mail

After much effort this last semester, I've completed the refresh of the DE website... at least sort of. Over the last year it has become clear that Tesh and I would need to rebrand outselves away from the old Digital Equinox name for our work. To that end I've been working in various elements of that identity refresh culminating in the launch of the new website today. From here out, Digital Equinox will become the blog segment of Two Lands Creative, the new brand for Tesh and I. For those wondering about the logo and name, it is derived frm the hieroglyphic symbols for the word "tahwey" which means two lands. While this was normally found in the titles of the king in the form "nb t3wy" or lord of the two lands, we have found this to be a fitting name as our work is divided into the two categories of fine art and graphic design. Following the analogy, despite being separate, parts both fine art and design are united under the single umbrella of art. We hope you enjoy the new site look and stay tuned for a full refresh of the blog look eventually!

This project has ended up having a rather small number of journal entries mainly because it was fairly rushed in execution and much of the design was put together based on what materials I'd managed to borrow as late as last friday. With much help from IT and the Press for borrowing laptops, setting them up, and the kiosks I needed for the project, it's all done now. In retrospect I think that it would probably be nice to put some extra information on keyboard placards to further explain where the text typed appears.
